Hey, In class today we took notes on our first vocaulary words. Our quiz is next wenesday on the block days. We then took notes on informal and formal writing, to prepare us for our in class essay next Wenesday. I have been working on the thesis for the in class essay, and feel good about it.

Hey, In class today we watched the last part of the Fences movie. We then took the multiple choice question test. I feel good about the multiple choice section of the test. Looking back now at the last ten constructed response questions I feel like I could have added more but I do feel confindent that I answered the questions well.

Hey, In class today we took notes on the writing process titled Brain Storming. To help with writers block we learned avout clustering where you take the main topic and branch off ideas that will help create body paragraphs. This will help with the in class essay on Wednesday.

Hey, In class today we finished the book Fences by August Wilson. I read the part of rynel and feel like the stroy was wraped up pretty well. We then wrote two paragraphs on what could have happened with in the 7 years that were skipped over leading to the death of Troy.

Hey, Today in class we had a sub and had to complete 19 comphresion questions on the story Fences. I feel good about my answers.

Hey, In class today we finished reading act two of Fences and part of act 3. In our jornal response we went over things that Rose feels she needs protection from and why it relates to the title Fences. In the 1950s it was a hard time for blacks the title Fences protrays the guard that people during this time period have.

Hey, In class today we finished Act One of the play Fences. We learned more a out to relationship between the characters and the time period this novel is based on. We wrote a journal entry on the typical day these men have.

Hey, In class today we read the first 10 pages of Fences by August Wilson. I read thr part if Rose. We made a table to list the characteristics of thr four main characters Troy, Bono, Rose and Lyons.

Hey, Today in class we read the poem "Incident" by Countee Cullen. The main take away was that words have power. A single worfs can have a very long lasting impact on someone. The impact of the child that called the eigh year old that name is something that was tramatic. Going over what words can be hurtful to differnet people in different cultures i think was a good discussion. Some words may be more hurtful to others and its important to take others into considerstion.
